Monday mornings are boring,that's a fact. Today will not make an exception. However, sometimes, boredom can bring the good. Totally forgot my lil 2.0 baby... so I came back just to check if everything was fine. I guess everything is ok, no change since my last post almost 3 years ago... 3 years. That's scary. Even scarier when I realize I have not changed that much in all these years. Yesterday, I was complaining about reaching the age of 26. This year, I will be 29... That's quite a gap right?
Will see if I'll come over every now and then... at least to keep my english in shape...

Always been addicted to Sport... not just sport as an activity, sweating and aching but most because of the fact that, given to sport, I have been always able to eat as much as I want to... sweets, cakes, fat... everything!!! Whatever you eat, you stay toned and slim... Wonderful time, no? So you keep on eating, conscious about your luck (as every girlfriends of yours starts to worry about their shape), and you secretly hope things will go on like this forever...

So, life goes on, you start working, practice less and less sport, maybe move in with your junk food addicted boyfriend... OK! That's such a cliché but you got it, no?... So life goes on and you ain't worry, you do still look great huh!

But at a very particular moment, when you just did not expected it, your body, which was your very close friend so far, turns into your best enemy: You have gained weight!!!
Things cannot just change because you want to turn back time... you have 2 choices: you can give up and throw your skinny jeans away, or you can face it and change your habits to get your fit back! Guess what, I do belong to the facing team.

Soon this month, I will pass over the bridge... meaning I'll be 26... And girls, things are not the same in the early twenties than in the late ones... You just cannot eat like before, party like before, makeup like before, dress like before... OK, I need to stop.

Was my girl Nelly right? Do all good things come to an end? Seems so... Not convinced about it? Then look at that...

Yes... Seems Michael T. Weiss belongs to the oldies now...Seems also that he is MUCH hotter like that ;)

As every Wednesday evening, I attended my class of History of Art. Man! I usually can't wait to go there but yesterday, the class was sooo boring: I did not figure out that French art during the 17th century was so damn...classic. You know what Mr Poussin, Lebrun or Vouet, you do not impress me that much. zzzz zzzzz

By chance, the awful foot pain I had due to my stilettos found in Seoul kept me awaken... Plus, our lovely and charming teacher got late... Seems someone did regret to have come. Let's go directly to the point. After I have so long waited for my bus in the cold, there it was. I got on it: there they were. A bunch of stupid little brats (ok, actually, they were perfectly grown up teens). they were shouting, the music of the cellphone is at the maximum volume. Everything around them is god damn noise... everything but their fellow passengers, me included.

Five or six teenagers saying bad words and listening to some crappy French rap music... and no one. I wonder: why so scared? They are less than we are... If we want, we can kick their juvenile ass right away... So why so scared? Don't want to question the present social structure in France. I just feel things are getting rotten and I have the impression that something really bad is coming.

Will it bring good or worse?

There's something I need to confess: in past days, I was kinda serious gossip addict...Always knowing all, always looking for the newest information from the gutter. I used to spend tons of money (okay, not that much but tha's was my pocket money... come on!). Thanks God (damn! let some religious bigotery enter this space!), I got healed... Now, I am done with the gossip magazines... Now, I prefer spending tons of cash on shoes and by tons, I mean my damn monthly salary! Is my case a desperate one? Nevermind... Let's go on about the gossip stuff.

Every morning, I need to check Dlisted... This blog is so addictive I need my daily fix to get chilled. The Dlisted guy is such a bitch I can't stop laughing about things he write...This morning, I went there, as usual and I saw this!

Urban Outfitters UK and I have quite a bizarre love story... In french, there is a phrase that pictures it perfectly well: l'Amour Vache... Sometimes it's love inconditionally, sometimes it's impossible. Anyway, when I go to London, I always go there to glance at some new and funny stuffs. Back in Paris, I often have a look to the onlineshop (even if I am becoming more and more onlinebuy hater...too much disappointements made me change my mind) and even if I skip this step, the newsletter leads me there whatever...

One of those famous cloudy sundays of early spring... You don't want to be outdoor so you wake up, chill just a little in your comfy flat... Look at the window, so depressing. Slowly, you start feeling guilty about the lousy day you're spending. Going to the movie seems to be the better way to limit the damage. But you ain't right to choose a turkey!

That's why I chose Gran Torino, the latest so told masterpiece by the very last Hollywood Giant. The movie deals with the relationship between a Korean War vet, his Asian neighbors, his priceless vintage Gran Torino, his "just deceased" wife, a young priest and the strangers that are is own family. Sure you will enter the story, maybe shed a tear and laugh at the racist jokes that fill the movie... and then?

For my part, I could not help remembering the hot guy of The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly... having the impression that I was seeing the Great Clint for one of the last times...

Strange fruit

The Jazz Singers, Archibald J. Motley Jr, 1934

In front of this painting, some will see jazz singers. True. But some will see more: remember the "fubu" thing? For us By us? That's it! I immediately knew it was the fact of a Black man. But why? I could not tell. When it comes to put people in boxes and try to picture their lives from their ethnic or social backgrounds, I am the first to roll my eyes and deny ... But this time, I fully and deeply went through it. That was stronger than me: I just knew it. What do you think? There are much easier ways to honor a painting we like? Agree...

But no confusion here: the exhibition dedicated to Le Siècle du Jazz, is not only about Archibald's painting. Come on! That's much more than that: it's about the way Jazz affected every part of art since the phenomenon has appeared, in the early beginning of the 20th century. I came out of this exhibition with a slight feeling of longing about those crazy years, when every woman was classy and not affraid to be... a woman! I felt nostalgic about that era when the more used to be better than the less... But this exhibit left me also a bitter taste, of that time when nothing was given to the poorest, and when atrocities used to be committed along with the beat of jazz...

You shoud go and see by yourself. Between now and then...
